From Fall to Spring, when most bears are in hibernation, this one is in the tying den or visiting flyshops to show his techniques and patterns. He loves to teach others about fly tying and fly patterns, and does countless fly tying workshops, classes, and demonstrations each year.

When hibernation ends, Bear heads out in search of Steelhead. He fishes his favorite Michigan rivers which include the Pere Marquette, Boardman, and Big Manistee. He seeks out the smaller waters in the summer to try to catch his favorite fish, the Brook Trout. And when the big trout are calling, he leads Trophy Brook Trout Expeditions to Labrador in pursuit of world-record brookies.

March 10-11, 2007 - The Midwest Fly Fishing Expo at the Macomb County Community College in Warren, Michigan. Bear will be tying all day both days at the Fuller’s North Branch Outing Club’s booth. Stop by for the Public Release of his new “Best Of The Bear” Tying Tradition (Trout Fly) DVD and “Best Of The Bear” Steelhead DVD. These two new DVD’s are a must have for tying in both the Great Lakes and throughout the Midwest or where ever your fishing takes you. April 19-21, 2007- The Eastern Idaho Fly Tying Expo in Idaho Falls, Idaho Bear will be tying for all three days. He will also appear in Jack Dennis’s Fly Tying Theater during the show. The show will take place at the Shiloh Inn.
